Artist Statement
Albert Camus said that " a work of art is a confession". My confession? I need Beauty in my life. It's with us everywhere but is fleeting. So, I desire to create Beauty in its ever changing form. Beauty found in every atom of nature. Beauty found in birth, decay and chaos. Beauty found in the everyday. It's the choice of the artist to capture and define it within the parameters of a medium. Today I prefer the presentation clay and plaster provide. Tomorrow, who knows? Today my style is figurative and representational. Tomorrow's Beauty may be presented in an entirely different style. Today I love the shape of Beauty in the human form. Tomorrow? What I am certain of is that Beauty surrounds us everywhere. I choose to share the Beauty I see. |
